@justin I blew away the ”miketuscan” and ”martha” users because they had started groups talking about wood blinds, debt refinance and drug rehab programs.

I finally discovered that jQTouch is focused on WebKit based browsers whereas jQueryMobile tries to offer a broader base of support. Interesting differentiation. My one complaint is that jQueryMobile seems to avoid using the ”fixed” positioning feature, which makes their implementation of tab button bars behave a little oddly (ie. they fade out and back in when you scroll).

Check out this video on the new touch support in YUI3: http://www.yuiblog.com/blog/2011/01/17/video-yuiconf2010-desai/
If you want to skip to the juicy stuff then fast forward to around 36 minutes into the presentation.
YUI was actually the basis for ExtJS, which provides much of the support for their SenchaTouch mobile product. Sencha hired the original author of jQTouch to head up that effort.
Sencha has a strong business oriented service offering but Yahoo has huge direct experience with putting the systems into operation in a high traffic environement. Its interesting to watch these two very similar platforms evolve.

We should probably set up a clone of this install and try the upgrade on that. Do you want to spin up a dev.dalmob.org?

Infrastructure: 1 year, 12 months ago · ViewActually its most of the way there. I guess we really just need to touch up the base theme and make it look a little more special.

We should upgrade to 3.1 and bump up to the new BuddyPress. The forums view is much improved.

I am working on getting some of the default BP templates modified. Along with learning some of the ins and outs of WP. I added a footer and moved some of the sidebar elements there.

I will take a look at this after the next meeting. Sounds good.

Sounds good. I’ll get that going next week, after my little girl is back in Houston.
